Join us in honoring those who exemplify the very essence and spirit of our mission at MFS. Through their leadership, they demonstrate the power of listening to and then championing our various community needs — be it providing access to culturally specific foods, creating opportunities for connection and engagement, or mentoring students in literacy. Come celebrate and raise funds alongside the amazing folks who make it all possible!
The 2024 Eileen Johnson Community Service Award
DAVID GOLDBERG
Each year at AGOG, the Eileen Johnson Community Service Award is presented to an outstanding community leader. This year, we’re honoring David Goldberg, a long-time MFS Experience Corps mentor and tutor, and former MFS Board Director with the award. David’s dedication to the community and his love for teaching children are truly inspirational and have transformed many lives.
ABOUT EILEEN
The Eileen Johnson Community Service Award is presented to an individual or group who exemplifies Eileen’s verve and commitment to community. Eileen Johnson was passionate about the mission of MFs and inspired many others to engage in our work. As a Board director and a direct service volunteer for MFS, she lived her commitment to building an inclusive community for people of all ages, cultures and life paths. Eileen was actively creating positive change when she passed away in 2005. A Gathering of Good was established to honor Eileen’s legacy and support the vital work of MFS for future generations.
