distributed at MFS Hunger Relief sites

in support of independence, health and social connectedness

~$15.7 million in tax returns

used by low income families to meet basic needs, catch up on rent or meet their financial obligations,  

Not to mention:

  • 8,090 tax returns processed for free via MFS CASH Oregon

  • 3,623 school age youth attending extended-day academic and enrichment activities

  • 662 parents and caregivers served through early childhood and family support programs

  • 37 older adult mentors offered 2,162 hours of regular focused literacy support to 220 school aged children needing 1:1 tutoring to reach critical third grade benchmarks

MFS program participants:

  • 69% of MFS Service users identify as BIPOC 

  • 36% of service users speak a language other than English at home

  • 80% are extremely low income
